(46.9 x 58.4 cm.) mount: 20 x 24 in. (50.8x 60.9 cm.) This work is number six from an edition of twenty-six.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sea of Buddha, (000) 1995 by Hiroshi Sugimoto. The price achieved of USD 11,970.00 (€ 11,326.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sea of Buddha, (000) 1995 von Hiroshi Sugimoto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 11.326,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hiroshi Sugimoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.888.000,00 (€ 1.403.404,45).
