(46.9 x 58.4 cm.) mount: 20 x 24 in. (50.8x 60.9 cm.) This work is number five from an edition of twenty-five.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sea of Buddha (010), 1995 by Hiroshi Sugimoto. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,115.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sea of Buddha (010), 1995 von Hiroshi Sugimoto zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.115,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hiroshi Sugimoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.888.000,00 (€ 1.403.404,45).
