Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection, which included the work Pritchardia Gaudichaudii (Palm Leaf), 1945 by Horst P. Horst. The price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 7,174.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horst P. Horst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pritchardia Gaudichaudii (Palm Leaf), 1945 von Horst P. Horst zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 7.174,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horst P. Horst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 210.834,55).
