Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chevrier, Paris, 1950 by Irving Penn was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 41,562.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Irving Penn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), 1951 in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 361,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chevrier, Paris, 1950 von Irving Penn wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 41.562,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irving Penn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), 1951 im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 361.000,00.
