Admittedly, works by Irving Penn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), 1951 in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 361,000.00.

Die Arbeit 'Three Asaro Mudmen, New Guinea' von Irving Penn wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 36.658,35) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Irving Penn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), 1951 im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 361.000,00.
