Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included this untitled work by Izumi Kato. It changed hands for a price of HKD 5,715,000.00 (€ 669,168.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Izumi Kato - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 1,560,000.00 (€ 1,593,065.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Izumi Kato zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 5.715.000,00 (€ 669.168,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Izumi Kato mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 1.560.000,00 (€ 1.593.065,22) versteigert wurde.
