Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Shrimp Cart, Southport by James Lawrence Isherwood. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,313.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Lawrence Isherwood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rain and Sun, Wigan in August 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 7,450.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shrimp Cart, Southport von James Lawrence Isherwood zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.313,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Lawrence Isherwood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rain and Sun, Wigan im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 7.450,45).
