Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in London held the auction Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I, which included the work Cornelia, mother of the Gracques brothers, 1795 by Jean-Guillaume Moitte. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,720.00 (€ 31,932.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Jean-Guillaume Moitte have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2008 the work Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques was auctioned for EUR 37,176.00.

Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cornelia, mother of the Gracques brothers, 1795 von Jean-Guillaume Moitte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.720,00 (€ 31.932,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Jean-Guillaume Moitte konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2008 die Arbeit Cornelie, Mere Des Gracques für EUR 37.176,00 versteigert.
