Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study For China Clay Pits, Cornwall by John Nash was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,625.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nash achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Window In Bucks in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 375,000.00 (€ 440,528.40).
