Auction result well in line with expectations
The work France, Shadows On Pavement (From Exiles) by Josef Koudelka was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,284.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Koudelka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966 in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 68,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit France, Shadows On Pavement (From Exiles) von Josef Koudelka kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.284,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josef Koudelka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gypsy, Kladno, Czechoslovakia, 1966 im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.750,00.
