The work Christine Pants by Julian Opie was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,076.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Opie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walking in London in the rain in June last year with an auction result of CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).

Die Arbeit Christine Pants von Julian Opie kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.076,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Opie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walking in London in the rain im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 189.000,00 (€ 189.036,11).
