Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julio González could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Main gauche levée (no. 2) changed hands for USD 23,940.00 (€ 23,190.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julio González achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Masque 'Ombre Et Lumière' in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,633,250.00 (€ 5,457,580.86).
