Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in Paris held the auction Stripped Bare: Photographs from the Collection of Thomas Koerfer, which included the work Michele, b. 1977, 2004 by Katy Grannan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katy Grannan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anonymous, Los Angeles, which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,157.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Stripped Bare: Photographs from the Collection of Thomas Koerfer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Michele, b. 1977, 2004 von Katy Grannan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Katy Grannan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Anonymous, Los Angeles beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.157,68) versteigert wurde.
