Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kaws could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the No Regrets: 20th/21st Century Art Online auction, the work KAWS: HOLIDAY Japan Mount Fuji Plush Toy (Three works) changed hands for HKD 4,032.00 (€ 483.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kaws konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion No Regrets: 20th/21st Century Art Online wechselte die Arbeit KAWS: HOLIDAY Japan Mount Fuji Plush Toy (Three works) für HKD 4.032,00 (€ 483,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
