Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Star Wars Darth Vader Companion; Star Wars Stormtrooper Companion; & Star Wars Boba Fett Companion by Kaws was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000 - 120,000, the actual price achieved of HKD 69,300 (€ 10,648) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000 (€ 6,615,255).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Star Wars Darth Vader Companion; Star Wars Stormtrooper Companion; & Star Wars Boba Fett Companion von Kaws kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000 – 120.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 69.300 (€ 10.648) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000 (€ 6.615.255).
