Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Yougen by Kazuo Shiraga was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 8,403,000.00 (€ 934,717.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kazuo Shiraga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Takao in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 8,731,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Yougen von Kazuo Shiraga wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 8.403.000,00 (€ 934.717,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kazuo Shiraga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Takao im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.731.400,00.
