Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Let Us Now Praise the Children (Zwizwai Family) by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami. It changed hands for a price of HKD 762,000.00 (€ 89,222.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Skye Wanehanda (I) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 404,708.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Let Us Now Praise the Children (Zwizwai Family) von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 762.000,00 (€ 89.222,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Skye Wanehanda (I) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 404.708,23).
