Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Japanese landscapes, gardens, street scenes and temples, 1880s - 1890s by Kusakabe Kimbei for GBP 293.75 (€ 502.10). This price was achieved in the auction 19th and 20th Century Photographs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Kusakabe Kimbei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,393.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Japanese landscapes, gardens, street scenes and temples, 1880s - 1890s von Kusakabe Kimbei für GBP 293,75 (€ 502,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th and 20th Century Photographs bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kusakabe Kimbei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.393,80).
