Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Parts of the Body: Italian Vocabulary, 1963 by Larry Rivers was sold in the Post War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in February this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,241.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Rivers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Africa I in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,077,000.00 (€ 1,703,296.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Parts of the Body: Italian Vocabulary, 1963 von Larry Rivers wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.241,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Rivers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Africa I im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.077.000,00 (€ 1.703.296,70).
