Sold at the upper estimate price
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Jeune fille épluchant des pommes de terre by Foujita. The auction ended at the price of USD 300,000.00 (€ 252,143.22), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Foujita achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La fête d'anniversaire in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,096,250.00 (€ 8,002,380.76).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jeune fille épluchant des pommes de terre von Foujita zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 252.143,22) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Foujita erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La fête d'anniversaire im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.096.250,00 (€ 8.002.380,76).
