Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leonora Carrington could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Arma Blanca changed hands for USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,497.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonora Carrington konnte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Arma Blanca für USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.497,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
