This artwork by Leonora Carrington achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Impressionist & Modern Art | New York auction, the work Mystical Figure sold for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,437.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leonora Carrington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonora Carrington erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art | New York wurde die Arbeit Mystical Figure für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.437,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
