The work Dreaming Of Mondrian by Liu Ye was sold in the Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2021. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,325.55), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Ye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).

Die Arbeit Dreaming Of Mondrian von Liu Ye wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Kawaii Pop bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 7.325,55) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Ye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41).
