Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Laundrette by Louay Kayyali was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,000.00 (€ 27,620.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Louay Kayyali have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Cake (Kaak) Seller in June 2020 with an auction result of GBP 137,562.00 (€ 151,500.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Laundrette von Louay Kayyali kam im April 2008 bei Christies in Dubai zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 27.620,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louay Kayyali auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Cake (Kaak) Seller im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.562,00 (€ 151.500,70).
