Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Barques et voiliers à Ouistreham by Louis Valtat for USD 28,000 (€ 24,471). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000 – 50,000 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Valtat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madame Valtat et son fils in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 726,650.

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000 – 50.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Valtat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madame Valtat et son fils im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 726.650.
