Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lucien Smith could be acquired at Phillips in London in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Untitled (Scrap Metal 4393) changed hands for GBP 189.00 (€ 211.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucien Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucien Smith konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Scrap Metal 4393) für GBP 189,00 (€ 211,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucien Smith erzielen.
