The »bidding war« ended at GBP 504.00 (€ 740.44), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucy Kemp-Welch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cart horses on the Downs in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 37,045.00 (€ 57,300.23).

Die Arbeit Study of A Horse von Lucy Kemp-Welch wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 504,00 (€ 740,44) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucy Kemp-Welch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cart horses on the Downs im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.045,00 (€ 57.300,23).
