This artwork by Lucy Kemp-Welch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2007. In the Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs auction, the work In the shafts sold for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,119.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucy Kemp-Welch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cart horses on the Downs in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 37,045.00 (€ 57,300.23).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lucy Kemp-Welch erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs wurde die Arbeit In the shafts für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.119,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucy Kemp-Welch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cart horses on the Downs im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.045,00 (€ 57.300,23).
