Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work "Hullo! Did You Come By Underground?" by Mabel Lucie Attwell. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,391.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mabel Lucie Attwell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work We're going on a ride on dear old quack - all the way there and all the way back., which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,178.57).
