Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Magdalena Abakanowicz was auctioned at Christies in February 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 101,412.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Magdalena Abakanowicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 480,500.00 (€ 403,849.39).
