Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Exotic nude, 1936-1937 by Man Ray was sold in the A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection auction at Christies in London in October this year. The price achieved of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,365.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Exotic nude, 1936-1937 von Man Ray wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.365,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
