In April 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Le Violon D'Ingres, 1924 by Man Ray. The »bidding war« ended at USD 475,000.00 (€ 394,846.22), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Im April 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Violon D'Ingres, 1924 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 475.000,00 (€ 394.846,22) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
