Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Man Ray could be acquired at Christies in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection auction, the work Study of a Paris Interior, c. 1930 changed hands for USD 3,276.00 (€ 3,099.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Man Ray konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection wechselte die Arbeit Study of a Paris Interior, c. 1930 für USD 3.276,00 (€ 3.099,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
