The work Untitled (Solarized Nude, Paris), 1929 by Man Ray was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 630,000.00 (€ 591,327.20), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Solarized Nude, Paris), 1929 von Man Ray wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 630.000,00 (€ 591.327,20) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
