Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Metamorfosis (Exvoto) by Manuel Rivera. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 55,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 44,093.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Rivera - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Espeso para una catedral, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 120,500.00 (€ 157,609.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Metamorfosis (Exvoto) von Manuel Rivera zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 44.093,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Manuel Rivera mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Espeso para una catedral beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 120.500,00 (€ 157.609,27) versteigert wurde.
