Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ au couple en rouge by Marc Chagall was sold in the Dialogues: Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 299,250.00 (€ 333,790.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 260,000.00 – 360,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Die Arbeit Christ au couple en rouge von Marc Chagall wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Dialogues: Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 299.250,00 (€ 333.790,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 260.000,00 – 360.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
