Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Cirque Jaune Au Grand Clown by Marc Chagall was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in June 2001. The price achieved of GBP 190,750.00 (€ 316,873.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 180,000.00 – 220,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 190.750,00 (€ 316.873,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 180.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
