Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Modèle (Charbon) by Marcel Broodthaers was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Cologne in September 2021. The price achieved of EUR 32,760.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 26,000.00 – 36,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Broodthaers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 536,466.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Modèle (Charbon) von Marcel Broodthaers wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Köln versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 32.760,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 26.000,00 – 36.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Broodthaers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 536.466,65).
