Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marie Laurencin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction, the work Autoportrait Au Chapeau, Tête Penchée sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,405.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marie Laurencin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme aux tulipes in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 462,181.65).
