Despite a disappointment, a good price for Marilyn Minter
In March 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Wave by Marilyn Minter for USD 269,000.00 (€ 250,442.23). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art and Design Evening Sale at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Wave is the most expensive artwork by Marilyn Minter that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Marilyn Minter
Im März 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Wave von Marilyn Minter für USD 269.000,00 (€ 250.442,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art and Design Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Wave das teuerste Kunstwerk von Marilyn Minter, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
