This artwork by Marlene Dumas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2017. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Prince In The Army, No Comment sold for EUR 16,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marlene Dumas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,036,731.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marlene Dumas erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Prince In The Army, No Comment für EUR 16.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marlene Dumas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.177.250,00 (€ 4.036.731,89).
