Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Boys - Gender Bender by Marlene Dumas was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 185,000.00 (€ 175,156.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marlene Dumas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,036,731.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Young Boys - Gender Bender von Marlene Dumas wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 175.156,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marlene Dumas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.177.250,00 (€ 4.036.731,89).
