Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Forêt by Max Ernst was sold in the Modernités auction at Sothebys in Paris in October 2021. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 653,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Ernst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le roi jouant avec la reine in November last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 23,670,444.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Forêt von Max Ernst wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modernités bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 653.800,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Ernst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le roi jouant avec la reine im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 23.670.444,64).
