Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bringing Hope by Okokume was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in February last year. The price achieved of HKD 13,860.00 (€ 1,579.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okokume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bringing Hope von Okokume kam im Februar letzten Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 13.860,00 (€ 1.579,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Okokume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
