Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bringing Hope by Okokume was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 24,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 10,710.00 (€ 1,294.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okokume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 70,768.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bringing Hope von Okokume kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 24.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 10.710,00 (€ 1.294,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Okokume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Eyes of the Soul (2 Works) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 70.768,86).
