Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Corne D'Or (Constantinople) by Paul Signac was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 16,210,000.00 (€ 14,710,953.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 14,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Signac - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Concarneau, calme du matin (Opus no. 219, larghetto), which sold at auction in November last year for USD 39,320,000.00 (€ 38,089,702.61).
