Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lion pride near Ndutu, 1976Gerenuk Tsavo North, February 1965Waterbuck family, 1968Eye for Living Sculpture, c. 1990Danielle Luna on Burned Diaries, 1976Nixon at Yale, 1960 by Peter Beard was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 25,200.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
