Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Lanyon could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary auction, the work Susan changed hands for GBP 189,000.00 (€ 220,234.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Lanyon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orpheus in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,268,750.00 (€ 1,431,111.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Lanyon konnte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary wechselte die Arbeit Susan für GBP 189.000,00 (€ 220.234,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Lanyon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orpheus im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.268.750,00 (€ 1.431.111,45).
