It achieved a price of USD 456,500.00 (€ 383,677.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet in May last year with an auction result of USD 24,435,000.00 (€ 22,770,478.05).

Die Arbeit La maison de la poste à Cagnes von Pierre-Auguste Renoir kam im November 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 456.500,00 (€ 383.677,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Auguste Renoir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Berthe Morisot et sa fille, Julie Manet im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.435.000,00 (€ 22.770.478,05).
