Alternative Version for the Dragon Children’s Centre at St George’s Hospital, Tooting; in 2014, Quentin Blake produced a series of eleven dragons to be reproduced on nine large panels along the main corridor of the Dragon Children’s Centre.

Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price

This price was achieved in the auction Quentin Blake: A Retrospective at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Quentin Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).
